Assignment 3: Musical Typography

Our group name is Duo, since there's only 2 of us in this group. Me, Amirah Farhanah Binti Daud Ahmad and my friend Fatin Amirah Binti Shahar.

For our third assignment, we did a musical typography using the song "Broken" by Mira. The song is written by myself. I recorded the song for an English assignment that I had to do before, and since we have to do a musical typography, I thought it would be great to use my own song since it has been recorded and all.

Now that we're clear about the copyright of the song, here is the process of making the musical typography:

The software that is used in making this musical typography is Adobe Flash CS4 and Adobe Photoshop CS4.

Firstly, i create a new file which is Flash ActionScript 3.0 and edited the size to 560 x 320 px

Next, I import the song and the background to library 

Using motion tween, the left and the right hand moves into the stage in the introduction of the musical typography with the music playing in the background

Then, the broken heart appears.

Next, the jail bars moves in from above while the heart is beating

The title of the song appears. The word "Broken" is broken into two

All of the words that moves are moved using motion tween. The words that appears follows the lyrics of the song

At some point, the background changes colour. The font used is Impact. It is typed using the text tool.

Lastly, at the end, the names of the group members.

The making of.... Assignment 2

Today I will show how I did my second assignment which is the Dynamic Poster.

Firstly, I start out by creating a new file which is Flash ActionScript 3.0

After that, I edited it's size to the requirement which is 320 X 240 pixels. I put it in a vertical position.

Next, i import to stage my first assignment illustrator file.

I made the city background visible.

Then, I made the KLCC move from bottom to up using motion tween.

Next, I made the Chinese girl move from left to the center to pause for a moment and then continue moving to right. At the same time, some lyrics of the song 1Malaysia moves in the background. All these movements are using motion tween.

Moving on, I made the Indian boy move from left to the center to pause for a moment and then continue moving to right using motion tween.

The Malay girl also moves from left to the center to pause for a moment and then continue moving to right using motion tween.

And then, all three of them enters in from the left side moving together. Again using motion tween.

The shadow under the characters appear one by one, like a spotlight as the Malaysia map is zooming out.

 The Malaysian flag is now in the stage. I used motion tween and scale tool.

Now the word "Unity Is" moves in from the left

The word "Strength" moves in from the left. And it's finished!!
